Tragedy unfolded on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway as a horrific accident claimed the lives of eight individuals in the early hours of Monday, November 6th. The incident, occurring at approximately 3 a.m., involved a 14-seater matatu en route to Nairobi and a trailer truck in the Ngata area.
Nakuru County Police Commander, Samuel Ndanyi, confirmed the grim details, revealing that the matatu, carrying passengers, including children, had a head-on collision with the trailer. Regrettably, the matatu driver and several passengers lost their lives, while survivors were promptly rushed to Nakuru Level Five Hospital for medical care.
The driver of the trailer, in a shocking turn of events, remains at large, having fled the scene moments after the accident.
